How iPhone enrollment via the station works

How the station enrolls an iPhone: 6 steps from the cable to “Enrolled”.

What to do

  1. 1

Waiting for the phone: the station waits for an iPhone on the cable and reads the serial number by itself.

  2. 2

Pre-check: the provider confirms that this serial number can be enrolled. If the phone isn't in ABM, it gets added at the Configurator step (the “Add to Apple Business Manager” checkbox). An unfinished enrollment continues from the same stage.

  3. 3

License reservation: the station says “License reserved” or “Registered, ABM request sent”.

  4. 4

Configurator: Prepare → Manual Configuration → MDM server via the enrollment link (if the phone isn't from ABM — also the “Add to Apple Business Manager” checkbox). After the profile, the phone erases and reboots — that's how it should be.

  5. 5

Waiting for Apple, about 8 minutes: the phone is on the “Hello” screen, don't activate it, don't unplug the cable.

  6. 6

After “Confirmed” — activation: language → region → Wi-Fi → “Remote Management” screen → “Next”. Then the status is “Enrolled”.
