Phone doesn't trust this Mac
The station sees the phone but can't read it: “Trust This Computer” wasn't tapped on the iPhone. Happens both during enrollment and backup.
What to do

Unlock the iPhone — the screen must be unlocked.

On the phone tap “Trust” and enter the passcode.

If there's no prompt — replug the cable straight into the Mac, without a hub.

On the station tap “Check again”.
